Stride Zero
A downloadable soundtrack
"It happened so fast, the world dried up. Minerals, trees, animals all suddenly becoming a scarcity. Does it have to do with the appearing containers? Whatever hell we've found ourselves in, it's up to you to free us."

- Song Descriptions -
Note: will make more sense lore-wise from reading the story overview
A Short Rest:
This is a calm lo-fi song that plays when you first log in to the base to manage your runners and click around on stuff. You can't be running all the time, right? Kick back and rest your legs.
Suspicions:
This song is versatile, and is usually used in the visual-novel-like story segments when investigating the mysteries. You're not safe though, as danger could show up at any moment to ruin your revelation. Do you hear the timer?
FIRST ENCOUNTER:
The main fight theme. While using parkour to get to your target, enemies could show up at any point. Your units can fight though, so get to it.
- Story Overview -
Stride Zero is a (hypothetical) parkour-based gacha game set in a future where all the world's resources suddenly dried up. Nothing can grow, minerals have turned to dirt and stone, and animals stopped breeding. Coincidentally, strange, futuristic packages began to appear around the world.
Nobody knows where they come from, not that anyone bothered to ask. They contained everything we could need for survival. At first humans managed just fine. The packages had food, water, resources, we shared them. Some time after, the packages started to vary. Now they could contain tech foreign to us. Before we could even begin to understand what they were meant to be, then came the weapons.
The world went up in flames the moment the first weapons arrived. The gangs immediately snatched them all up by overpowering everyone too weak to fight, not smart enough to figure out the tech, or not fast enough to run. With their power and influence they managed to enslave massive amounts of people and put them to work as runners.
What are runners? It's simple, they run out to collect the packages. It's not as easy as it sounds, though. It was discovered that some of the technology in these boxes was summoning these monstrous creatures, but they would provide various benefits such as strengthening materials. The gangs use these relentlessly. They don't care how much farther they can push the world into disarray, so long as they have the biggest piece of the pie when the world ends.
But that's where you come in.
You are fast. Really fast. You managed to escape capture from all the gangs, but it's getting more difficult to survive. It isn't until you run into a disorganized group of ragtag runners that you have the means to not only survive, but potentially free others. With your quick feet and quicker wit, you come to be the leader of this group.
As such, you lead them all as a sort of rebellion. Your goal: free those enslaved by the gangs, uncover the mysteries behind the packages, and escape the nightmare that the world is trapped in.
The story mode will be completed in 6 years and in that time enjoy the fact that you DON'T have to pull for weapons as you get those through challenges and events. Instead you only have to pull for runners (cough cough Genshin hurt me (play Path to Nowhere instead))
